Let's put our heads together to sleuth what is going on in there.
Hi, I’m Mary Bryan-Stewart, a functional nutrition educator & business owner of PaleoLove Company, a grain free, naturally gluten free & vegan bakery, located in Greensboro, North Carolina. I birthed my company out of a need for a healthy treat for my daughter who was diagnosed as having Celiac, PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections) and PANS (Pediatric Acute onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome). The later two illnesses affect multiple systems in the body, many of them related to mental health. My back story begins when I was 6 years old on the first earth day. I was so inspired to change the world that I developed the driving ambition to grow my own food. I wanted to feed myself and my parents with healthy fresh food. As I grew older, I even gave up soda pop when I was a teen, after a brief relationship with diet sodas. However, just like any normal teenager I still ate junk food and my health paid the price in hindsight. I ended up getting sick and tired. As I grew into adulthood I had multiple strep infections in my 20’s that finally led to having my tonsils out at age 27. Other issues developed until I started taking my health and my family’s health into my own hands. When my daughter had horrible anxiety starting as a preschooler, that led us in the direction of special education. Only to discover years later that her body was horribly inflamed. She was diagnosed with PANDAS and PANS, a horrible disorder that affects the brain causing a multitude of mental health issues from OCD, restrictive eating, tics, anxiety, emotional liability, deterioration in school performance, bed wetting, wetting during anger, frequent urination, severe separation anxiety, and the list went on. With the help of functional practitioners we worked on her diet and gut health to get her healthy. This is not a quick fix, but it is a fix that gets to the root cause of what is happening inside the body. As a result of this journey I decided to become a functional nutrition educator and consultant. My desire is to help you and your children get healthy.
